Who We Are

North Coast Computer Project is a non-profit computer refurbisher based in Maclean, NSW Australia.

Primarily NCCP sources and refurbishes low cost computers for the residents of the NSW North Coast, and Students. All of our computers come with legitimate Microsoft software.

We Are Microsoft Authorised

We are a Microsoft Authorised Refurbisher (MAR), and were the first rural MAR established in Australia. Founded by Bernie Francis in 2003, we have established a strong partnership with TAFE NSW and our Local Councils in order to refurbish quality ex-Government computers for the residents of the NSW North Coast and TAFE Students.

Our Staff and Volunteers Are Industry Trained

At NCCP we are fortunate enough to have a very strong partnership with North Coast TAFE, and this allows us to professinally train our staff and volunteers to a high industry standard. All of our volunteers have years of industry experience and hold certificate level qualifications in IT, with many of them achieving Certificate IV’s and Diplomas. Our trainees are also currently being trained to a Certificate III level with North Coast TAFE.

E-Hub Projects

North Coast Computer Project works with North Coast TAFEAboriginal Communitiesdisabilities organisations and other community programs to establish computer E-Hubs.

An E-Hub is a group of 2 to 10 computers set up in a location by NCCP. These E-Hubs are used for running TAFE classes, as homework centres, and for members of the community to access the internet, technology, and training.

Our Goals

North Coast Computer Project is a small, local organisation with big plans.

Initially set up to provide computers and access to technology for low income earners, NCCP has had to change it’s direction as computers become more readily available and much more affordable.

While we still maintain our strong Computer Refurbishment side of our business we have been focusing on helping Aboriginal Communities and other organisations and communities access the same level of technology that many of us take for granted.

We continue to work hard towards reducing unnecessary e-waste, providing quality refurbished computers to members of the community, and to provide unrivalled technical and computer support to the NSW North Coast.

History

NCCP was originally started in Maclean as Clarence Valley Computer Project by Bernie Francis in 2003, when he realised there was little support locally for residents to access cheap technology.

North Coast Computer Project has since evolved to provide cheap computers, technical repairs and support, and local networking opportunites for lower income and the Indigenous persons of the Clarence Valley and North Coast of NSW.
